Beer Bread
- ¼ cup butter, melted
- 3 cups Biscuit and Baking Mix, see recipe below
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 12 oz. bottle or can beer
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
- Heavily grease 9 x 5 loaf pan with butter.
- In large bowl, stir together Biscuit mix, sugar and beer with wooden spoon until well moistened.
- Spoon into prepared pan, press to form pan.
- Pour melted butter over batter.
- Bake 50 to 55 minutes or until knife inserted into center comes out clean.
- Let cool 5 minutes.
- Loosen sides and remove from pan.
Biscuit and Baking Mix
- 8 ¾ cup flour
- 1/3 cup baking powder
- ¼ cup sugar
- 1 Tbsp salt
- 2 cup shortening or butter
- In a very large bowl, mix together all dry ingredients with wire whisk.
- Cut in butter until crumbly.
- Ready to use.
- Store in large airtight container.
