- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 tsp cream of tartar
- 2/3 tsp baking soda
- 1 1/2 cups flour and 2 Tbsp if needed
- 2 to 4 cups sliced strawberries
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 tsp almond extract butter
- Mix sliced strawberries with sugar and set aside.
- Mix sour cream, cream of tartar, baking soda and flour together.
- Roll out to 1/2 inch thick spread in pan.
- Bake 350 degrees F. for 20 minutes or until medium brown.
- Cool 5 minutes.
- Cut in half and spread almond butter on top and bottom layers; spoon 1/2 of the berries on; spread with cool whip; place the top on and repeat.
- Garnish with 8 whole berries.
- SERVE....
Variation:
add some chocolate chips to the shortcakes before baking. Dust with powdered sugar after baking…
