Caramel Topping

  • 5 Tbsp butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/4 cup half and half
  • Pinch salt
  • 1/2 tsp Vanilla extract

  1. Melt butter and brown sugar in large heavy saucepan over low heat; 
  2. stir constantly until mixture is smooth. 
  3. Add half and half, then salt; 
  4. simmer 4 minutes. 
  5. Remove from heat; 
  6. stir in vanilla. 




Serve over ice cream, desserts, pancakes, waffles or as a dip for apples or other fruits.
